In this photo, you can see another large ulcer in another area of the esophagus.In all, they took about 8 days to heal up. Lesson learned ... take doxy in middle of day, with LOTS and LOTS of water, and make sure I'm upright. I was off the doxy for a couple weeks but I am back on now, so far so good. If I forget to take it during the day I will just skip it from now on, I don't ever want to go through the esophageal again!
On another note, a week from Thursday I go in to get my SureSmile wire on. Although I can't visualize what changes the wire will bring about, I can only imagine I will get some major torquing and twisting of my teeth, getting them in line for surgery. I am wondering how bad my bite will be as I get close to surgery ... only time will tell.
I am looking forward to my SureSmile date because this is supposedly when my OD will tell me I can schedule my surgery! I can't believe I am getting close enough to schedule ... YIKES! But I am prepared for what lies ahead, and just looking forward to getting on with the process to be able to put this chapter of my life behind me, although I know it is a long haul uphill before I get there.
